While we always encourage players to compete and strive for success, development comes before results. We focus on improving technical ability, game understanding, teamwork, confidence, resilience, and enjoyment.

We believe every player deserves opportunities to develop through match experience.

Playing time is managed fairly and responsibly throughout the season, taking into account attendance, commitment, attitude, player welfare, and the needs of the team.

Absolutely. All Academy Juniors coaches and volunteers complete the appropriate FA qualifications, DBS checks, safeguarding training, and first aid requirements.

The safety and wellbeing of every player is our highest priority.

We're committed to being transparent about costs. Player subs are £30 per month, with no joining fee.

That includes a full match kit, training top, and jacket. Beyond subs, parents will receive clear information regarding league fees, tournaments, and any optional events — there are no hidden surprises.

A typical season includes:

• Weekly training sessions
• League fixtures
• Cup competitions
• Optional tournaments and football festivals
• Club events and presentation celebrations

We provide advance notice wherever possible so families can plan accordingly.

Yes. Every player starts somewhere.

Our coaches understand that children develop at different rates and arrive with different levels of experience. We work hard to ensure new players feel welcomed, included, supported, and encouraged from day one.

Many of our most successful players started with little or no football experience.

We view parents as important members of our football family. We ask parents to:

• Support all players positively
• Respect coaches, officials, and opponents
• Encourage effort rather than outcomes
• Help create a positive matchday environment
• Communicate openly and respectfully

Together we create the culture our children experience.

As much or as little as you like — every bit of help matters. Parents get involved by:

• Helping out on matchday — running the line, setting up goals, or being a friendly face on the sideline
• Sharing lifts to away matches and tournaments
• Joining the committee or supporting fundraising events
• Spreading the word — following and sharing us on social media
• Sponsoring the club or a team, if that's more your thing

No experience is necessary for any of it — just a willingness to muck in.

Our coaches take time to understand each player as an individual. We celebrate effort, improvement, teamwork, and personal growth as much as goals and results.

If a player is struggling, we work with both the player and parents to provide support and help them rediscover their enjoyment of the game.

Academy Juniors is focused on long-term development. As players progress through the age groups, they benefit from continued coaching, competitive football, leadership opportunities, and pathways to remain involved in the game.

Our aim is not simply to develop better footballers but to develop confident young people who love the sport.
